About Markland Media
Markland Media is an Internet Advertising and Search Engine Marketing media company based in Victoria BC and is a limited partnership registered in the province of British Columbia. Owned and operated by search marketing expert author Jim Hedger and marketing and sales consultant Andy Carruthers, Markland Media was founded in August 2006 to offer its unique style of strategic, holistic Internet and search engine advertising.

Andy Carruthers
With an extensive background in sales, marketing and business development, Andy Carruthers brings a grounded and personal approach to online advertising and sales-focused messaging. Andy specializes in business planning and development.
Andy has headed sales campaigns for Adobe Canada, realizing over $16million in sales annually.
Jim Hedger
Search Marketing expert Jim Hedger is one of the most syndicated search engine marketing writers with columns appearing at the ISEDB.com, WebProNews, Search Engine Guide, and on countless other search marketing related websites.
Jim has worked on or around the commercial Internet for over 10 years. He owned and operated one of the first cybercafés in Western Canada, the Underground Onramp. After selling his interest in the café, Jim started his career in search engine optimization at StepForth Search Engine Placement where he worked until July 2006.
Jim spends a lot of time traveling to speaking events, search conferences and visiting clients but spends the majority of his time in his adopted hometown of Victoria BC with his feline friend, Hypertext the Cat.
